Former Liverpool and England captain Steven Gerrard retires --

London: Former Liverpool and England skipper Steven Gerrard declared his retirement on Thursday a week in the wake of affirming he would not come back to play for MLS side LA Galaxy. 

"Taking after late media hypothesis encompassing my future I can affirm my retirement from playing proficient football," Gerrard, 36, said in an announcement. 

"I've had an amazing profession and I'm appreciative for every single snapshot of my time with Liverpool, England and LA Galaxy." Gerrard made his Liverpool make a big appearance in 1998 and built up himself as one of Europe's most dynamic midfield player. 

He went ahead to show up for the club and was topped 114 times for his nation.
